[7/16/2009] - James B. Kehoe, business manager of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 322 has been named president of the New Jersey State Association of Pipe Trades. The 10,000-member group consists of plumbers, pipefitters and HVAC technicians from throughout the state. As president, Kehoe will be active in advancing legislative initiatives and promoting awareness surrounding the importance of hiring these highly skilled and trained individuals. more

Local 322 Adds Rigging Program to Curriculum
[12/4/2007] - Local 322 has added a Rigger Certification Program to their training curriculum. This program provides trained, experienced certified riggers at no cost to our contractor or their clients and also provides the men the opportunity to enhance the quality of their work. Thirteen Local 322 members completed the 40 hours of training and took the EPRI/UA written and practical exams. The addition of this program reinforces the quality, safety and economical workforce provided for Southern New Jersey. more

Camden County Improvement Authority Names James B. Kehoe Chairman of the Board of Commissioners

Camden, NJ – During a meeting held on February 22, 2008, the members of the Camden County Improvement Authority voted to elect James B. Kehoe of Berlin, NJ, chairman of the board of commissioners. Kehoe has been serving as vice-chair since 2002.

Kehoe is Business Manager of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 322 based in WinslowTownship, NJ. Kehoe oversees all aspects of the 2,100 person union organization including the supply of skilled mechanics to area contractors as well as training apprentices and journeypersons. His responsibilities also include serving as chairman of the pension health and welfare and annuity funds that support members and their families.
A life-long resident of CamdenCounty, Kehoe graduated from RutgersUniversity in 1979, with a degree in business administration.

Kehoe is recognized for his ability to align business interests with union interests. One of his initiatives, a joint venture with the South Jersey Mechanical Contractors, called The Alliance, has increased the union market share for plumbing and heating in the Southern
New Jersey market by over 20 percent.

“I am pleased that Jim Kehoe has been elected as chairman of the Improvement Authority,” said Camden County Freeholder Director and liaison to the Improvement Authority, Louis Cappelli, Jr. “Jim has a unique ability to bring people together. He is dedicated to ensuring that a quality, safety-minded workforce delivers a top-notch work product to building projects throughout the region.”

Kehoe serves in leadership roles in a number of trade associations including: president of the Southern New Jersey Building Trades Council; vice president of the South Jersey AFL-CIO; vice president of the NJ State Association of Pipe Trades and member of the board of Union Organization of Social Services.

He is a member of the board of trustees at RowanUniversity and was appointed by Governor Jon Corzine to the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority in 2007.

Kehoe is also active in numerous non-profit organizations including Urban Promise, Camden County United Way, Catholic Charities, American Diabetes Association, American Red Cross and New Jersey Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.

Created by the CamdenCounty Board of Freeholders in 1979. The CamdenCounty Improvement Authority (CCIA) is an independent, self-sustaining, public agency, which has broad powers to strengthen the region’s economic base. The Authority is self-sustaining through income earned on real-estate investments, financing fees, service contracts and other sources of business revenue. Operating under State statues, the Authority issues taxable and tax-exempt bonds and also serves as the economic development arm of the County at no cost to the taxpayers.
